Tap Forms also imports and exports CSV and XLSX (Mac version) files. It also has barcode printing, label and records list printing, a couple of list views, over 30 different built-in templates to choose from, and it creates a default layout for you without you having to design a form layout, although you can design any number of layouts. It also lets you save your filters for later quick retrieval, plus it has over 20 different field types including maps, relationships, and a calculation field type for building formulas to calculate just about anything. Oh yes, and it also has a built-in Bento template importer on the Mac version.

Very interesting indeed.
Thanks for the notification...

But IMHO Tap Forms seems currently to be a best choice:
- it supports OS X 10 9. Records requires OS X 10 10
- there is a Mac demo for Tap Forms. I don't see one for Records
- TapForms exists also for iPad ( 9$99) and for iPhone ( 8$99). Nothing for Records
- TapForms costs only 34$99 as Records costs 49$99.

As Paul Wirth says, it will be interesting to compare both in depth...

Thanks for the heads up on this. Bento was pretty good and I moved to Filemaker when Bento died, but was loathe to cough up another $300+ for FM Advanced for encryption, and even more for cloud sync.

Have you looked at Tap Forms? (http://www.tapforms.com/). I found it a couple of months ago and have been overall really pleased. Syncing over iCloud with iOS versions of the app is a crucial plus. If Records ever adds iOS apps that sync, I'll be interested to compare the two.
