you may already know about this, but I use Actions (getactionsapp.com) to program a grid of actions (or pretty complex workflows) for particular sets of tasks. They also just added a mode that turns your iPad into a cursor mover. I use it with a Hoverbar.

i actually have a very sweet setup with Actions and Marked, wherein a button moves the cue point in Garageband to the beginning of the track, presses record, switches to Marked (in Teleprompter view) and starts the teleprompter. The button then switches to a Stop button, and when I press it it pauses both Garageband and Marked. Feels awesome and I use the hell out of it when recording short excerpts/editing scripts on the fly.
