Thanks for the review, Brett.
Another offering worth considering is Goodreads. It's a free iPhone app that is linked to the Goodreads website/service. I use this app/service to keep track of my long (and growing) list of books to read and those I've already read. It has a social media component allowing you to view book reviews…and to post your own. The iPhone app is quite feature rich and includes a barcode scanner - handy to capture a book recommended by a friend or something you see in the bookstore.
Where are your lists stored, and are they exportable? I usually use Amazon Wish Lists this way, since most dead tree books I purchase come from there. My only gripes about Amazon are that it's not easy to export the lists and occasionally they'll delist an item (out of print or something) and the item just shows up as Unknown Item or something. I'd pay $3 just to have the bar code scanning functionality with the ability to export the list. Without it, it doesn't buy me much that I don't get out of my current workflow.
Side rant: Amazon has another feature to track your library (books, movies, games, etc.) but similarly doesn't allow export. Boo to you, Amazon! Let my data go!
Hi, I'm the developer. The books are stored in a database on the device, including images, and what you see is what is saved. It works offline and doesn't change just because a web service changed.
Actually, the only things that it uses the web for at all are identifying a book with a bar code and searching for cover art and author completion.
Books are not exportable at the moment, though I want them to be. I haven't decided the best way to do that yet, so I'd be happy to hear suggestions.
