Hum, I wasn't aware of that one (about Disqus):

Nor do have I dig my own research on the matter, but still, I have some concerns now.

Wow, thanks for sharing. I'll have to do some digging on my own on this one.

Ghostery *or* a secure browser like Brave

Is Ghostery redundant if using Brave ?

Seems that way to me, but I'm unsure.

Ghostery, Brave and NordVPN are my favourite too. I am glad our opinion on this is the same. I always suggest to use a VPN, no matter you are connected to public Wi-Fi or you are simply scrolling social media at home because it will protect your personal information in any case.

I haven't tried Nord VPN. Is it as fast as ExpressVPN?

I don't have any experience with Express, so I can't speak to that. I do know that at home, Nord generally provides me with speeds that are equal to what I get without VPN.

Hi Brett, I also went through a very similar spring cleaning recently, and I've settled on using Matomo (https://matomo.org/) for analytics. It has very comparable features to GA, but you can set certain tracking features on or off depending on your needs. Best of all, it's open source and can be self-hosted for free, so no other company will need to touch the data.
