Ya know, when you start doing something and you feel you have hit your limits of understanding. That's where I am. Thanks for you help and patience though (I will use the heck out of the MindJet script though).
Struggling as a relative newbie, I keep getting "The action “Run Shell Script” encountered an error." I think I have changed the path correctly... as "~/myname/Dropbox/Notes/".. where Notes is my NVAlt folder...
I got the MindJet script working and that is a treat...
If you're not comfortable debugging on the command line, try this:
<ol> <li>Open the Service in Automator (double click it)</li> <li>Find the action "Get specified text" on the left and drag it in before the Run Shell Script action</li> <li>Paste some text you're trying to run the Service on into it</li> <li>Run the action and then open the "Results" tab under the Run Shell Script action and see if there are any more helpful error messages there</li> </ol>
So then the obvious question... are there wiki links in the text? There should be either a camel-cased WikiLink or a double bracket [[link text]] type link. If there already are, open an issue on GitHub and let me know what app you're copying from and show me some text that's not working.
Thanks Brett! I think this could be handy. But there's a problem right now: nvALT is activated, but the notes window is not displayed (I can't get this to work for any URL query). Any thoughts?
Hmm. I believe I have the latest version --- 2.2b (94)? Also, there seems to be a small glitch: if a note's title begins with a number, a new note is always created.

Make sure you have the latest version, I improved on exactly that yesterday after a comment from Lri. If you still have problems, let me know here.

No, I mean the latest version of the script.
Please file an issue regarding the number problem, I'll have to look into it.
