Brett, Thanks for the awesome tips! Thinking of trying Pinboard. When you said "making use of tags and the built-in 'read later' functionality", though, are you referring to Pinboard's or Safari's?
Excellent article -- most of the "Best Tools of the Year" articles I've read have rehashed the usual ones us productivity hackers already know about. Also thanks for including your friction points in the article.... a breath of fresh air. I've got some research to do!
Dropzone 3 has a lot of potential but I have been disappointed by the amount of community support. Most actions are for the previous version and haven't been updated in years so they fail to work due to API incompatibilities.
Almost all of my actions are custom, and the new API is great. There's a bundle for converting old actions that works pretty well. I agree that the lack of community contribution has been a bit lackluster, though. I'd share more of mine if they weren't so specialized to my needs.
