Sounds like you are describing the 1Password Anywhere feature that was released with 1Password 3.0 in 2009. I love this feature, especially via Dropbox.
The one gaiting problem I have preventing me from buying 1Password is how I can authenticate to sites when the computer I am using does not have 1Password installed. Am I reading this as an option to allow me access to the passwords from any computer? Seems like a security hole but I am at a loss of how I can not have a easily memorable password for times when I am not on my primary machine.
So I wonder if this could be used for sharing passwords among those sharing Dropbox access. Small dev teams, husband and wife accounts, etc. (I know sharing passwords is wrong, but sometimes necessary.)
A good option is the 1Password Interchange File. Just select the passwords you want to share, File->Export->1P Interchange File and share that. You can also just drag a password entry into a chat window or email and you'll get text in 1PF format that, when copied and pasted with the 1P window open, will create the new entries.
Nice tip! I've found an additional 1Pass quick tip for utilizing passwords.
Sometimes you'll come across a form that won't allow the "generate password" input to work AND won't allow for copy paste. If you select the generated pass from 1P and then drag (at least on a mac) that "text" over to the pass field it will see it like a text insertion instead of a clipboard paste. Maybe I'm doing something else wrong, but I thought I'd throw that tip out, too! Thanks for your awesome blog/podcast/apps/scripts…
