My site uses pre-rendered Katex, whereas this comment box uses MathJax. MathJax is perhaps slightly better in some ways, but it's also slower, and I don't really know how to use it with my static site builder (it's certainly doable, especially with MathJax 3, but Katex is already supported with just a little bit of configuration). For comparision,
The live preview for these comments jumps around and act a bit buggy—especially when typing latex. A pity because I otherwise quite like it; I might disable the MathJax and try to implement Katex dynamically; and maybe have it 'lazy load' so it has no affect on browser performance unless you're actually looking at a comment with latex.
Well, the sides of the matrix look much better than above. But I think the markdown interpreter is escaping the ampersands (which it shouldn't) before the latex is put into the script tag (which is how the data is actually stored in the comment for some reason; I guess it means the preprocessor doesn't need to be enabled unless someone starts writing a new comment.)
Sorry about the dupe comment. please disable the other one.
Hope you are well.
Remarkbox is open source now so we could switch or also have a checkbox for Katex. Sorry about the Markdown escaping, I think we should be able to fix that as well.
